Hey Friends, my name is Jessica Whitfield

The Face behind the camera

Born and raised in East Central Alabama, I have always been "your friend with the camera". My love of all things art related started early with painting on the walls, disposable cameras (the original way to selfie), elementary and high school art competitions and endless photo albums to document every second.

Photography has progressed from passion to career and now to a functional way to care for my family and love and serve others through my work.

Many Years of Experience

I started digital photography 20 years ago when I began college. I graduated Jacksonville State University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree of Fine Arts. For 16 years I was a professional Photographer and Graphic Designer working locally for the Army. Design and Photography go together like peanut butter and jelly, so I naturally gravitated toward working with both.

Fun Fact: I also excel in watercolor painting and pen and ink drawing.

Why The Name?

I am a part of a gospel community that proudly proclaims Christ is King and with that in mind I desire to keep Him and the kingdom as the focus of my life and business. Focusing just so happens to be a function of my camera so it's also a fun play on words and a reminder to keep a biblical perspective on why I do what I do! Photography, design, and art are gifts that have been entrusted to me and I seek to honor God through those gifts as well as provide a sweet service to you, my future client!

A Little More About Me

I am married to the sweetest guy I met in the church choir a whole decade ago, my husband Daniel. Together we're raising three amazing, wild, wonderful kiddos who keep us on our toes (and our coffee mugs full). Early in 2025, I made a big life change, I left my job of 16 years to homeschool our children and dive full-time into this photography journey.

Life is a little louder now, a little messier, but so full of purpose. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Photography has always been a passion of mine, but it became something more when I realized just how fast these childhood years fly by. I wanted to freeze the giggles, the missing teeth, the chaos of family dinners and now I get to do that for other families, too!

Kingdom Focus Photography is about more than pretty pictures. It’s about creating memories for the glory of God, capturing the love, connection, and joy in your real, everyday moments.
